Yikes! Sixteen kids today for watercolors!

Most of the children took their works of art home to show off but a few agreed to leave them behind for drying.
Thanks to all the Moms and Grand-moms for helping!

Such Artists!
We’ve been having fun on Thursdays inside and outside the Children’s Library! So far we’ve made firefly jars, bubble wands (regular and giant) and clay owls.
Next week…We’ll get messy with Mod Podge!

Hundreds of lightning bugs fill the sky during the month of July.
Join us this Thursday to talk about the “firefly” and make a glowing firefly jar!
Be sure to let us know if you’ll be coming!

I stopped today at our Butterfly garden and noticed that one of the parsley plants had been totally devoured. We have visitors to our garden – it’s so exciting!
Last Thursday we went searching for fairy houses – look what we found!

We found about 8 houses behind the library, around the schoolhouse and along the creek area.
This Thursday children created fairy houses to put into their own gardens (under shelter). We had a great time- the houses were beautiful.
Surely they’ll all be quickly occupied!

Our butterfly garden was planted behind the Children’s Library today (Tuesday). We’re hoping the fat caterpillar we found on the fennel plant will become a beautiful butterfly.
Tomorrow- story hour at 10:30 and Lego for Little Guys at 1:30.
Thursday, June 30th.- we’ll begin searching for Fairy Houses near the library. Call to let us know if you’re coming!
We’re moving into summer programs beginning Tuesday with a two part program: “Butterflies ” (ages 6-up). Come learn all about butterflies, start your butterfly mobile and help us plan and plant a butterfly garden behind the library!
Wednesday story hour continues with the letter “U” and Little Guy Lego (ages 4-6).
Thursday “Lets get cooking” with Miss Barbara and Miss Ally of Hainesport ShopRite (ages 6-up).
Be sure to call the library to register. Space is limited for cooking programs!
Summer is almost here… and that means it’s time for summer programs at the Children’s Library!
On Friday, June 10th (the last day of school) we are welcoming summer with a backyard event. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and enjoy a magic show with magician Brian Richards! The show starts at 6:30 but come early to enjoy a picnic with library friends! It promises to be a “magical” evening for kids and adults alike. Let us know if you can make it at 859-9002.
And that is just the beginning! For information on all our programs, go to https://vincentownlibrary.org/childrens-library/ or click on the Children’s Library tab.
The Sally Stretch Keen Memorial Library invites you to join us for the Memorial Day Parade in Vincentown on Monday, May 30th.
Starting at 9:15 am we will be decorating bikes etc. behind the library. Or decorate at home and meet us. Be sure to stop by the Children’s Library following the parade to say hello and have some lemonade and cookies.
Parents, we need you to chaperone your children during this “family fun” event. And please don’t forget helmets.
