Goodbye May – Hello June

June Week One: Busy Beginnings

Looking ahead to June- week one looks quite busy! Besides the regular Wednesday story hour, there are events and activities for the kids on Thursday AND Friday!

Thursday will feature Ms. Ally’s Creative Club at an afternoon event for young children.

Friday evening, June 7, 6 pm

Brian Richards will return to entertain young and old, with both magic and comedy, at our Annual Backyard Event! Grab your blanket or beach chair and reserve your spot on the back lawn of the library.

Annual Memorial Day Parade Honoring Veterans

It turned out to be another beautiful morning for the annual Memorial Day Parade. The crowds of spectators and parade participants, once again, turned out to honor our veterans. Though weather predictions kept many from joining our bike brigade, the banner was proudly carried the entire distance by two brave, young friends of our library.

May Busy and Beautiful

Halfway through the beautiful month of May and summer is almost here! What marks the beginning of summer here in Vincentown? The Memorial Day Parade, of course! This year marks the 145th annual Memorial Day Parade, honoring our United States military personnel. The parade begins at 10 am, so get there early for a good spot.

Our library will again be participating in the parade with the Children’s Bike Brigade. And again, lemonade will be offered outside the Children’s Library for the thirsty crowd.

Looking ahead to summer, check out Ms. Kim’s schedule for events.

Book Club

Enjoy all that “extra” leisure time (after running to graduations, sporting events, yard work, etc.) this summer by sitting back and reading a good book. The June selection for the Keen Readers will be “The Frozen River” by Ariel Lawhon. It looks like a great read (a “gripping historical mystery”) and there are plenty of copies available for members and those interested in joining. The book club meets the second Thursday of the month, 7 pm, at the library.

Mother’s Day Weekend!

We’re looking forward to big events with Arts in the Village returning to this Mother’s Day Weekend . The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday May 11th 2024 and will include local artists, musicians, food and a painting station.

Here at the Library

Sally’s Cafe will be open for business selling delicious snacks!

Plus we’re having a Huge book sale!

Face painting!

And don’t forget to send the kids over to see Miss Kim to create a little something for Mother’s Day!

Are you ready to begin planting? The Vincentown Garden Club will be selling veggies and herbs, in flats and pots (rain or shine).

Here’s hoping the weather cooperates!
