Summer’s almost over and all kids, parents and teachers are looking forward to the beginning of a new school year (?)!
But, before we go there, let’s check out what’s been happening in the Children’s Library this past week.
Besides a lively Wednesday morning story hour, Ms. Kim’s Adventures in Wonderland ended with the Championship Chess Tournament!
And there’s more. If you’re not too busy with back to school shopping, and are looking for something to do on Thursday afternoon (1:30), Ms. Kim will be having an end of August Art project for kids over 8 years of age. Call to let her know you’re coming. Bring your artistic ability and your imagination – you’ll need it for this one!
Also, if you find yourself a bit bored, the Children’s Library has plenty of board games. Challenge your friends to Battleship, Candyland, Pictionary, or one of the crazier games there.
AND…Don’t forget to pick up a good book to read! If it’s not on the shelf, request it so it’s waiting for you on your next visit.
The Keen Readers Book Club selection for this month is The Ninth Hour by Alice McDermott. The club meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm. Interested in joining? Contact the library to get on the Keen Readers email list.
