Happy Halloween!

We watch every day for the changing color of the leaves, the explosion of color and then….
The holidays are here!
But before we move on to those holidays, (now on display in full force in all stores) we have Halloween! Pumpkins, scarecrows, witches, and monsters are in full force at Wednesday morning story hours for toddlers and Thursday afternoon crafts for pre-school children. And everyone comes to town to watch the school Halloween parade! Why not drop by for a “spell”.
Looking ahead, there are a couple of events you may want to mark on your calendar and a holiday fundraiser for the library.

The Chess Tournament held this summer was such a success, Ms Kim decided to invite the participants back. School age, tweens and teens invited. Beginners and Pros!
Get ready for the Holiday Season AND support the Library!

This is sure to be a fascinating program! If you have been thinking about joining the Garden Club now is the time. Learn about your environment at home, on the farm, in nature. So many informative, interesting programs.
New members always welcome!

And don’t forget to check the Events page for additional activities in the Children’s Library.

Have you been thinking you needed to brush up on your CPR knowledge? Now is the time, this class is free to our community. Please follow this link to sign up! The class will be held in the upstairs of our Children’s Library. We are so happy to be working with Hampton Lakes Emergency Squad in this two part series, October is for CPR and December will be “Stop the Bleed”.
As we bid adieu to September, we want to give a big shout-out to all the artists that offered their work to support our library. The show was absolutely beautiful, the plein air exhibit outstanding. Throughout the library the artwork was enhanced by the lovely floral arrangements from the Vincentown Garden Club.
So much goes into this wonderful event. A big thanks to Nancy Gower and Debbie Hodgson for all the time and energy they donate to make it perfect. And thanks to everyone for the many contributions that make this event such a success!
Fall is here and October is the favorite month. Cooling temperatures, beautiful colors of the changing leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows, and Halloween! There’s sure to be plenty happening at the library this month but to get us off to a start kids are invited to join Ms. Kim for Scarecrow Making on Tuesday, October 8th., 3:30 pm. It’s after school and all ages are welcome, but we suggest that very young children bring along an adult.

As always, Story Hour is held on Wednesday mornings, 10:30 a.m.
And Thursday afternoon is Craft Time for the preschool /homeschool kids at 1:30
Be sure to give Ms. Kim a call to let her know you’ll be there!
