It looks like spring is here! Songs of spring peepers, buds forming on trees, daffodils and spring ephemerals welcoming the season with glorious colors! Mother Nature at her finest!
Spring is also the time when folks begin to emerge from their winter habitats to step out and see what’s going on in the community.
Here are a few activities and events happening.
Ms. Kim is busy, in the Children’s Library, planning for the summer (already!) but for now, has sent along a couple of reminders for events happening soon.
Of course story time happens every Wednesday morning at 10:30.
Here’s a list of dates for April – mark your calendars!
There’s also a couple of gathering of young Chess enthusiasts scheduled for April:
Monday, April 7 and Thursday, April 10.
Ms Kim has been busy doing some early spring cleaning and is having a BookSale to make room for new titles!

According to the National Weather Service, February, is on average, the snowiest month in the United States (the Full Snow Moon). We’ll have to wait until February 2nd when Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his home to let us know if winter is officially over. If Phil hurries back inside, not to worry, get the sleds ready for some winter fun!

This January has be brutally cold! It is perfect weather to stay indoors and settle into a cozy chair with a warm blanket and a good book. So why not stop by the library? Our friendly staff will be glad to suggest an author or title to dig into. Or, speaking of digging, you might request a gardening book and dream of flowers, warm weather, and spring!
The library will be closed today due to inclement weather. Stay safe and warm, and off the roads if you can. Why not settle in with a good book? Tomorrow should be sunny – we’ll see you then!
We’re looking forward to the upcoming holidays. When the library gets decked out in festive lights and greens it is absolutely beautiful! Stop by for a visit and chat with our friendly staff.
If you haven’t ordered your Poinsettia yet it’s not too late – but HURRY. You can still send your order by email to have it in before December 1st.
And if you’re shopping for a special gift, you might want to check out this holiday event.
Friend of the library and the woman behind our great art show every year, Nancy Gower, is having “Art at the Barn” and you are all invited!
No info on events planned yet in the Children’s Library, but we’re sure Ms. Kim has something up her sleeve to help ring in the holidays!
We watch every day for the changing color of the leaves, the explosion of color and then….
The holidays are here!
But before we move on to those holidays, (now on display in full force in all stores) we have Halloween! Pumpkins, scarecrows, witches, and monsters are in full force at Wednesday morning story hours for toddlers and Thursday afternoon crafts for pre-school children. And everyone comes to town to watch the school Halloween parade! Why not drop by for a “spell”.
Looking ahead, there are a couple of events you may want to mark on your calendar and a holiday fundraiser for the library.
The Chess Tournament held this summer was such a success, Ms Kim decided to invite the participants back. School age, tweens and teens invited. Beginners and Pros!
