November

We welcome November, the crisp mornings, the falling leaves and holidays (can you believe the Christmas music has already begun?).

Sadly we bid adieu to our good friend, Library Director, Marsha Jones, as she heads off into the world of retirement. We’ll miss her and the enthusiasm she displayed for EVERYTHING! Hopefully, our Miss Marsha will stop by to visit often.

We welcome our new Library Director, Maile Irion. Maile is not a stranger to most of the children in the area, for her many years of service to the Southampton school system. As Director she looks forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Stop by to meet Maile and welcome her to our library community.

Family story hour begins next week, November 10, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Children accompanied by a parent or guardian are invited to join us for stories and a craft. Masks are required for the protection of the children.

Please let us know if you plan to attend! 609-859-3598 or 609-859-9002.

Halloween is just around the corner…

What are you planning to be this Halloween? It is on a Sunday, so the library will be closed. But we do plan to be there for the annual parade on Friday. Stop by to say hello (and Trick or Treat)!

Our Family story hour will resume on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are invited to listen to stories and create a simple craft. Please let us know if you plan to attend.

Our Fall Fun, for kids ages 4 and 5 years, continues with a Halloween theme. This week our artists will again be painting with watercolors. This week, pumpkins – next week monsters!

Thank you

Thanks to everyone for coming out to our Annual Art Exhibit & Sale. It was a lovely evening – the library simply glows with pride when used as a backdrop for such beautiful art. Thanks to all the artists for their support of our local library.

Children’s Library

The kids in our Thursday afternoon program, Fun for 4’s & 5’s, completed their first project: crayon resist fall leaves.

This week a Monarch Butterfly scene of cut paper and paint. It should be fun!
