For safety’s sake the library will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, January 6, 2018. Despite efforts to keep the sidewalk cleared of snow and ice it seems the wind has other ideas. Items will be checked in as being returned on Wednesday.

There was perfect weather on Friday evening for the holiday tree lighting in Vincentown. A large crowd assembled to enjoy the arrival of Santa, children singing and even some tasty snacks.
Be sure to check out the Southampton Events calendar for activities throughout the month.
And don’t forget to step out next Sunday, December 10th, to listen as the Girl Scouts raise their voices in song as they stroll through town. There will be hot chocolate and cookies at the library following the caroling.
The library is closed today, Election Day, November 7, 2017. Get out and vote!
The Burlington County Library Headquarters location in Westampton is open 9 am to 5 pm, all branch libraries are closed. Updates have been scheduled today for the library catalog and will be unavailable for a time. Be sure to check later to see the new “improved” catalog!
We celebrated Halloween at story time today and paraded through the library with Jasmine, a race car driver, a policeman, a fireman, a mermaid, a transformer and lots of other celebrities! We read stories of witches and monsters, sang and created a wiggling black cat – I hope everyone had fun, I did! All the kids looked GREAT in their Halloween costumes (so did Miss Marsha!).
Baby & Me will not be held tomorrow, October 26th. but will begin again in November.
Tomorrow in “Fun for fours & fives, we’ll be reading about pumpkins and painting with watercolors (pumpkin pictures) – should be fun (and messy)!

The library will be closed Monday, October 9th for the Columbus Day Holiday. I’m sorry that this was overlooked in our schedule of holidays.
Last weekend was just perfect for the library’s Fifth Annual Art Exhibit & Sale. Thanks to everyone for coming out to join us. The weather couldn’t have been better. Our library absolutely sparkled with the addition of the beautiful oils, watercolors and pottery of local artists, and the Vincentown Garden Club’s floral arrangements. The Children’s Library also displayed works of art by local artists, young local artists. Some of the watercolors painted by the kids this summer were admired by folks as they enjoyed their refreshments.
The Stitching with Sally group will be expanding to include a Grown up Color Time. If you’re not a stitcher you’re still invited to come out to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening with your neighbors. (First and third Thursdays, 1 – 2:30 pm or 6:30 – 8 pm.)
The Children’s Library will feature a couple of new programs this month. Baby & Me Story time begins October 5th. And two sessions of Fun for Fours & Fives – Art, stories & crafts will be held October 12th and October 26th. And, as always our regular weekly Story time is Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am.

Don’t forget to visit us on Halloween. We’ll be having a special Halloween story time following the school parade and we’ll be open for Trick or Treat on Halloween night (until 7 pm).
