Come out to support the library and local artists!

Yikes! Summer is flying by and the library has been very busy!
Tomorrow the Worm Man will be visiting the Children’s Library (with worms!) at 1 pm to talk about worm composting – how to turn your soil to garden gold!

We have discovered many fairies have moved into the area recently and celebrated their arrival by making Fairy Gardens and Lanterns.
The dietitians of Hainesport ShopRite came with a healthy trail mix snack…they’ll be back again August 15th.
Our summer reading group ( led by Colin Lubber) will have one last meeting (Wednesday, August 2nd) to discuss the Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and talk about their projects.
We’re busy learning about building and structures on Tuesdays – so far we’ve made toothpick and mini-marshmallow structures and Castles and catapults. Next week Let’s Build It Tuesday will be a free build with Legos.
August is almost here – join us for our weekly August Art session to see what’s planned!
Brian Richards was a hoot, as always, with lots of giggling and silliness followed by a crowd roll down the hill. (It’s hard to resist laying down and rolling when there’s a hill!)
This week, on Wednesday, June 28, a special book club begins for kids in 5th through 8th grades. The Graveyard Book (a Newbery award winner) is perfect for your summer reading project. – why not join your friends and have fun doing it?
This Thursday, June 29, the Bee Man is coming to the library!

Thursday the Bee Man comes to visit the library!

And, of course…
Stitchin’ with Sally is held the 1st and 3rd Thursday and Story hour is every Wednesday morning at 10:30.
See you then!
Our SUMMER kickoff Back Yard Event is Friday evening June 16th.
Show starts at 6:30 – bring your blanket and picnic dinner and get there early for a front row seat!
In case of inclement weather the show will be moved to the Old Town Hall on Plum Street (just around the corner).

Join us with your bike, trike, scooter, stroller, wagon or just walk!
Starting at 9:15 we will be decorating bikes, etc. behind the library (some supplies are provided). Or decorate at home and meet us for the parade! We’ll be heading over to the parade staging area at the corner of Main Street and Buddtown Road. The parade route ends at Allen’s Oil on Main Street.
During the parade and immediately following
the library will be serving lemonade and cookies.
Be sure to stop by to say hello and see what’s on schedule for the summer!
(Parents, we need you to chaperone your kids during this “family fun” event. Please made sure your child has someone meeting them at the end of the parade route and that children have proper supervision at all times.
We need you to help keep the kids safe. Don’t forget helmets!)

The library will be closed today, March 14, 2017 because of the “snow”, sleet and generally foul weather.
Stay safe!
